The body not only maintains our life and presence in the world but it is also the source of our consciousness and ideas: generating language, thoughts, habits, and a feeling of existence. The body is the first thing in a viewer or a painter to relate to a work of art. My work, therefore, relates new states of being possible through different positions of the body. From the viewer's bodily understanding of these images he or she will be opened up to the ideas, words, stories, and philosophies that can be transmitted primarily through an embodied medium such as painting.
